Elena and Joe – Video Save the Date

You know what the best part is about Elena and Joe being engaged? Joe wanting to do a video save the date featuring him in a mullet wig. That and the fact that they are going to share a lifetime of happiness together, of course.

So this project was obviously not documentary, but it’s definitely storytelling. And working with the couple to come up with a creative plan for sharing their excitement with family friends (and avoiding having to print and mail paper Save the Dates) was about as fun as it gets. Plus they’ll have something fun to feature on their wedding website and a very personal way to remember this time in their life forever.

Hope they’re not planning on walking those train tracks all the way to Iowa…

An Ode to Nieces – Christmas card shoot

I’ve decided that visits home will almost always result in an Ode to Nieces post. This Thanksgiving, while my dad roped the boys into helping with a cow project on the farm, my sister and I wrangled Anna and Mae for a quick Christmas card photo shoot. They don’t come any squirmier than these two, but man are they cute.

Lyndsay and Dustin

Rarely do I turn down the opportunity to spend a little time in my old Colonial Williamsburg stomping grounds. So I took a quick trip to Virginia to meet up with Lyndsay and Dustin for their engagement photo shoot. After dodging some storms the day before, we ventured down the beautiful Colonial Parkway to spend the morning in Yorktown. Thanks for putting up with the mosquitoes and my arts and crafts project. I’m looking forward to the beautiful spring Colonial Williamsburg wedding!

An Ode to Nieces

I got to spend a little QT with Mae-berry last week during my visit to Charlottesville, which resulted in a few new photos of the little lady cutting up on Mimi and Papo’s farm.

The incomparable Anna C., (Mae’s 4-year-old big sis), was off on another adventure so she escaped this weekend’s photo shoot. But I missed her and couldn’t resist sifting through the niece archives for a few of my all time Anna faves to include in this first (of I’m sure many) installment of an ode to nieces…
